8-hour CIT COACHES TRAINING

CIT training relies on realistic role-play scenarios to cement the knowledge gained in the classroom and translate it into practical skills with retention that extends far beyond traditional lecture training alone. The learning team is comprised of a professional actor with specialized training in the accurate portrayal of people in psychiatric crises, the student, and the scenario coach. The coach is a CIT-trained professional with CIT-specific role-plays facilitation training who guides students through their scenario work. In small group settings, the coach provides feedback and assessment to the student and the group with the goal of guiding students to success.

CIT scenario coach training imparts foundational knowledge in adult learning, CIT scenario learning objectives, and effective facilitation and coaching techniques. In many jurisdictions, CIT scenario coach training is required to serve as a coach in certified CIT trainings, and is frequently a prerequisite to serving as a CIT course director.
